Creating an Account

When accessing the portal, you will be required to log in. If you already have an account see Logging into the Portal for details on how to log in. If you do not have an account, click the link on the login page to begin the account creation process.

Firstly, you must choose whether you are creating a publisher account or a consumer account. A publisher account allows you to publish D-TROs to the service. Publishers require express permission from Department for Transport, and requests for publisher accounts will be reviewed by a Central Service Operator. Consumer accounts are required to consume data from the D-TRO service. The D-TRO data is freely-accessible by design, and there are no restrictions around consumer accounts.

Note

Publisher accounts have the ability to create publisher applications and consumer applications; it is not required to create two different account types.

Creating a publisher account

Creating a publisher account requires submitting the following information:

  • Forename and surname

  • Organization name: this is typically the DSP name, or TRA name for self-publishing TRAs

  • Email

  • Password: must contain at least 8 characters, including at least one special character

Creating a consumer account requires submitting:

  • Forename and surname

  • Organization name (if applicable)

  • Email

  • Password: must contain at least 8 characters, including at least one special character

Note

Applications for an account are reviewed by a Central Service Operator before you can log into the portal. You will receive an email once your account has been approved.

Verifying your account

Once you have submitted your application for an account, you will be navigated to a screen confirming an email with a verification link has been sent to your email address.

Note

The verification link is valid for 30 minutes. If you didn’t receive your verification email, you can click the button to request a new link. If you attempt to log in before your account is verified, you will be sent a new verification email and link.

Simply click the link in the email to complete the registration process.
